Preschool and Kindergarten
For players turning 4 years old by 9/1, T-Ball teaches the fundamentals of hitting, throwing, fielding, and running the bases. This age group will focus on skill development in a clinic format with some non-competitive scrimmages within the practice sessions. T-Ball will play on Saturday and Sunday mornings and all players receive a team shirt and hat. Baseball helmet and fielding glove required.
Grades 1-2
AA players will be introduced to the pitching and catching positions, and batters will face live pitching in games. To bridge the gap between T-Ball and kid-pitch baseball, teams in the division will:
Players must attend a preseason evaluation session, which is used to create balanced teams. Games will be played on Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. All players will receive a team shirt and hat. Baseball helmet and fielding glove required. Bat and cleats recommended.
Grades 3-4
Players will build and refine their individual skills and begin to focus more on game strategy and teamwork. This division will play two games a week and practice 1-2 days a week. Players must attend a preseason evaluation session, which is used to draft balanced teams. All players will receive a team shirt and hat. Baseball helmet and fielding glove required. Bat and cleats recommended. The season includes an In-Town Tournament and multiple District All-Star teams for 9U and 10U ages.
Grades 5-7 (7th graders turning 13 after 4/30)
Players compete in the most experienced level of Cal Ripken Baseball. This division will play two games a week and practice 1-2 days a week. Players must attend a preseason evaluation session, which is used to draft balanced teams. All players will receive a team shirt and hat. Baseball helmet and fielding glove required. Bat and cleats recommended. The season includes an In-Town Tournament and multiple District All-Star teams for 11U and 12U ages.
13-18 Years old (13 years old before 5/1)
Player compete for the first time on a standard 90' diamond under the Official Baseball Rules used in MLB. Teams are eligible to enter tournament competition and move along the tournament trail, culminating in a World Series.
